Choden is a Buddhist monk who teaches meditation and specialises in providing non-religious mindfulness workshops and training programmes for universities, businesses and organisations.
Choden left his career as a lawyer to become a monk. He is now involved in developing secular mindfulness and compassion programs drawing upon the wisdom and methods of the Buddhist tradition, as well as contemporary insights from psychology and neuroscience. He is an honorary fellow of the University of Aberdeen and teaches on their postgraduate study program in mindfulness (MSc), that is the first of its kind to include compassion in its curriculum.
We have been working with Choden for 15 years and he is a good friend and colleague of the Sangha House
Choden has worked extensively with Prof. Paul Gilbert, a world expert in Compassion in psychotherapy, in the context of evolutionary psychology. They have delivered many Mindful Compassion trainings together and co-wrote the book Mindful Compassion, which is an excellent book and we highly recommend! Email: reception@thesanghahouse.co.ukEstablished in November 2016 by Denise and Andy Spragg, the Centre is a mindfulness based Holistic health centre. Its aim is to cover all four quadrants of holistic health. The physical, mental, social and spiritual. With its 50 practitioners we certainly achieve this. We believe that all four areas of holistic health are equally important and balance each other.
