Body Scrubs and Wraps

Benefits

The benefits of a skin scrub and wrap are both physical and mental.  With dead, dull skin cells removed to reveal fresh new ones, and being thoroughly moisturised afterwards for the maximum comfort, your skin will look more even in tone and feel beautifully soft and feminine.  This is not just for the young, either – we all deserve to feel amazing in our skin, and this is the opportunity to feel just that.  If you self-tan (or professionally done, of course) a body scrub and wrap a couple of days beforehand will get your skin in tip-top condition to take the colour, without any patchiness or tide marks. The treatment can help with blemishes on the back, sometimes known as “bacne” and give you the confidence to go on holiday and wear a swimsuit or really gorgeous holiday fashions feeling really confident and beautiful.  And let’s face it, after the last few years, we all need to feel like that, don’t we?  It can also help with feeling fresh and quite literally getting rid of that old dullness that we all carry around after a long winter hidden away under big jumpers and jeans.  Just like a Spring pedicure for your feet, a scrub and moisturising treatment is the ultimate in feeling ready for the new lighter season.

The mental benefit of the treatment is one of exquisite self-care, which may feel indulgent, but we would say, it’s a necessity.  It’s really hard to get to your own back, even if you have a long-handled brush, and certainly to apply moisturiser everywhere afterwards is almost impossible.  An hour, once a month on the treatment couch being looked after isn’t just about improving your skin condition; it’s about a break from your usual busy routine, calming your mind and allowing someone else to take the load, just for an hour, while you just rest and relax.  With more and more of us working later in life, with all the stress that goes along with that, we all owe it to ourselves to just take a break every so often.

Problems it can help with

Drawing out ingrown hairs – if you shave, wax or pluck out hairs, the pores can get ingrown and feel uncomfortable and even infected.  An exfoliating body scrub can encourage the hair to grow straight from the skin and not get stuck and ingrown.

Uneven skin tone – as the scrub unblocks the pores, it removes dead skin cells and reveals new, fresh skin.  It appears more even with fewer blemishes.

Lymphatic drainage, cellulite reduction and improved blood circulation – the massaging movements and the ingredients of some caffeine-based scrubs can help with lymph drainage and the appearance of cellulite, and increased blood flow enhances health and vitality and reducing inflammation.
